API Reference
PlaceOptimizer exposes its programmatic surface in two ways:
MCP is the primary interface
The Model Context Protocol server is the supported way for external
programs and AI assistants to talk to PlaceOptimizer. It runs at
https://app.placeoptimizer.com/mcp (public discovery tools) and
https://app.placeoptimizer.com/api/v1/mcp (authenticated console tools). See
the MCP Server section for the full tool reference, authentication
model, and setup guides.
The MCP tools are a thin layer over the same data the operator console reads, so whatever your console session is scoped for, the tools can do — nothing more.
REST endpoints are console-internal
The console's REST API under /api/v1/* (auth, audit runs, locations,
billing, reports, webhooks) powers the dashboard itself. It is not a public,
versioned, supported API for external consumers:
- Every
/api/v1/*route except auth, feature flags, and the billing webhook requires a console session; routes may additionally require admin or provider-status roles. - Response shapes are internal and can change without notice.
- The supported external surface is the MCP server above.
If you are integrating PlaceOptimizer programmatically, use MCP.
Bulk CSV for location edits
The one REST workflow documented for operator use is the bulk CSV diff-and-apply pipeline, which edits many locations at once. It is the console's flagship workflow and the only place where the CSV wire format is a stable contract. The 16-column format, validation rules, and the preview-then-apply flow are documented in Bulk CSV.
Outbound webhooks
PlaceOptimizer can POST signed events to your own HTTPS endpoints — the one push surface of the console. Endpoint registration, event types, the payload shape, HMAC signature verification, and retry behavior are documented in Outbound Webhooks.
What is not here yet
- A public REST API for listing, creating, or editing locations outside the console is not offered — MCP is the path for that.
- India-directory presence management (JustDial, Sulekha and similar) is not an automated sync; it is a managed service, documented as such.
- Live Google Business Profile writes are rolling out: the console and MCP currently expose the read surface (locations, metrics, reviews, posts), with posts manageable through the console.
Pricing is transparent per-location INR plans with GST invoices — published on the marketing site, no "contact sales" step.
